The available job position is HR Assistant.
The main responsibilities of the HR Assistant include assisting in day-to-day HR activities, implementing HR policies and procedures, managing recruitment and selection processes, handling employee records, coordinating payroll activities, assisting with performance management, and handling legal and labor-related HR matters.
The HR Assistant reports to the Project Manager, TB Grant/Director, NPTCCD, and will be based at the National Program for Tuberculosis Control and Chest Diseases in Colombo 05, Sri Lanka.
The required qualifications include passing the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) Examination and the General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) examination. Preference is given to candidates with 3 to 4 years of prior working experience in a similar capacity in foreign-funded projects, particularly in the public sector. Formal training in Human Resources Management is considered an asset.
The preferred skills and competencies for the HR Assistant position include proactive and ownership-oriented work approach, teamwork abilities, proficiency in computer and office software packages, strong communication skills in English, Sinhala, and/or Tamil languages, negotiation and consultation skills, and knowledge of accounting/finance.
The salary for the HR Assistant position is as per Public Administration Circular No. 03/2016, Service Code: MN 2-Grade II. As of January 1, 2023, the salary is Rs. 28,040.00 1.5 + Rs. 7,800.00 Rs. 51,210.00.
The job is on a contract basis, initially up to December 31, 2023, with the first three months being on probation. The contract may be renewable annually based on satisfactory performance. The employer contributes 12% to EPF and 3% to ETF, while the employee contributes 8% to EPF. The working hours are from 8:30 am to 4:15 pm, Monday to Friday, and the dress code is smart casual.
Yes, the initial contract includes a probation period of three months.
